Golf is the foundation of Mapletøn

Designed by golf course architect Scott Hoffman, the 18-hole championship course was created to provide a thoughtful, strategic test that rewards creativity, decision-making, and execution rather than simply distance.

The routing moves naturally across the South Dakota landscape, using changes in elevation, native grasses, bunkering, and the movement of the land to create variety throughout the round. Wide playing corridors provide options from the tee, but the best angle into a green is often earned through thoughtful positioning. Around the greens, contours and closely mown areas create opportunities for imagination and make recovery play an important part of the experience.

The result is a golf course that can be enjoyed in different ways by different players and one that asks new questions with each round.

That philosophy extends throughout the golf experience at Mapletøn.

Expansive practice facilities give members the opportunity to work on every part of their game, while Slip Up Six, our lighted six-hole short course, offers a different expression of golf. With holes ranging from approximately 65 to 120 yards, it is a place for competition, practice, and late-evening matches under the lights.

Everything at Mapletøn comes back to the game.

From the championship course and practice grounds to an evening on Slip Up Six, our goal is simple: create a golf experience members never tire of playing and always look forward to returning to.
