THE STORY
Mapletøn Golf Club was created with a singular vision:
to build a golf club of enduring quality in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Designed by golf course architect Scott Hoffman,
Mapletøn is a private, golf-first club shaped around the game, the land, and
the relationships that make a great club meaningful. From the beginning, the
goal was not to recreate the traditional country club model, but to establish
something more focused, an exceptional golf experience supported by genuine
hospitality, thoughtful amenities, and a culture that feels refined without
being pretentious.
At the heart of Mapletøn is its 18-hole championship
golf course. Hoffman’s design rewards creativity, strategy, and thoughtful
shot-making while remaining engaging across a wide range of abilities. The
course was created to reveal itself over time, the kind of property that
becomes more interesting, not less, with familiarity.
The golf experience extends beyond the championship
course. Mapletøn features expansive practice facilities and Slip Up Six, a
lighted six-hole short course designed for competition, practice, and the
simple enjoyment of playing golf with friends long after the final groups have
left the championship course.
But Mapletøn was never intended to be defined by golf
alone.
The clubhouse, dining experience, outdoor gathering
spaces, and twelve-suite lodge allow members and their guests to spend more
time together and make the club a destination rather than simply a place to
play a round. Whether it is an early morning tee time, dinner overlooking the
course, an evening on the short course, or an overnight stay at the lodge, each
element was created to complement the reason Mapletøn exists in the first
place: a shared love of the game and the people with whom we play it.
Mapletøn is intentionally different.
There is no pool. No tennis complex. No sprawling
banquet operation. The focus is narrower by design: great golf, genuine
hospitality, memorable food and drink, comfortable lodging, and an environment
where members and their guests want to spend their time.
As one of the newest private golf clubs in the region,
Mapletøn's story is still being written. The standard, however, is already
clear.
Build something lasting.
Care deeply about the details.
Honor the game.
And continually pursue an experience worthy of the land, the membership, and
the name Mapletøn Golf Club.
